Lucy McCauley’s recently completed documentary, "Facing the Nazi Era: Conversations in Southern Germany," recounts the legacy of WW2 and the Holocaust through the lens of German non-Jews in the small University town of Tubingen in Southern Germany. Her interviews with many of the towns citizens are illuminating. The film includes a focus on a re-emerging Jewish community and its efforts to engage the community at large. A very real and uniquely honest conversation. McCauley has an uncanny ability to draw her subjects in and we the viewer benefit from the open and surprisingly candid results.
