VISION STATEMENT

Our mission is to educate, entertain and celebrate the diversity of Jewish life and culture. The Vancouver Jewish Film Festival (VJFF) brings the best contemporary Jewish films from around the world to Vancouver audiences. Through the presentation of film media and participation of filmmakers, screenwriters, actors and educators; VJFF promotes the discussion of relevant issues and provides an inclusive forum to explore topics within and beyond the Jewish community. The VJFF strongly supports the work of Canadian Independent filmmakers whose work explores Jewish themes and issues.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Now in its 20th year, The Vancouver Jewish Film Festival is the longest running Jewish film festival in Canada. With an established track record, the Festival is recognized as one of the best festivals of its type in North America .

Our programs reflect the interests and concerns of not only the Jewish community in Vancouver, but also the entire community of Greater Vancouver.

For 2008, the Festival will present close to 50 international films from many countries around the world. Our program this year is aimed at attracting audiences from many population groups including youth and teenagers, adults and seniors and multi-cultural groups where English is not their first language. This year we will be screening sub-titled films in many language groups including: French, German, Russian, Polish, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Dutch, Hebrew, Arabic, Yiddish and of course English.
