Why donate or be a film Sponsor of the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival?

Each year the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival strives to bring in the best and most recent films on Jewish subjects from around the world that promote discussion and a better understanding of Jewish culture and faith.
Our mandate is to select films that reflect Vancouver's unique Jewish Community, allow for multicultural interaction, provide a forum for discussion, educate, and of course, entertain.
Many of these films are not big box office material and ticket sales cover less than 40% of the total expenses of most film festivals. Obtaining these films is only possible with adequate funding for theatre rental, screening fees and shipping of prints. Only with adequate support from donors, sponsors and patrons, can the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival continue to annually host such a high caliber festival. |
A VJFF sponsorship is a unique a opportunity for individual donors and sponsors to contribute to one of the premiere Jewish events in Vancouver. Individual donations and film sponsorships provide an opportunity to honor the memory of a loved one celebrate a special occasion or just be a friend of the festival.
A donor or sponsor is recognized in the program guide or can remain anonymous. Over 12,000 program guides are distributed throughout Vancouver at various retail outlets, theatres, libraries, community centers, synagogues and numerous other affiliated organizations. |
Sponsors and donors receive special privileges dependant on the level of donation or sponsorship.

- On-stage acknowledgement of sponsorship prior to film screening
- An opportunity to introduce a sponsored film
- VIP passes to special events
- Opportunities to meet filmmakers at private receptions
- Front-of-the line privileges
- Complimentary passes and/or tickets to opening and closing events and other showings

Tikkun Olam (Repair the World)

| The concept of "Tikkun Olam," or repairing the world through social action, is an essential Jewish obligation. We recognize that those of us privileged with education and wealth have the ability to improve our communities and make a difference in people's lives. The film festival offers many opportunities for individuals to contribute to the well being of our community. |
| Since 1988, the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival has endeavored to explore the diversity of Jewish life and culture and promote the discussion of relevant issues and concerns within and beyond the Jewish community. The film festival also presents a tremendous opportunity to share Jewish culture with the non- Jewish community. Each year, the festival provides a venue for holocaust and tolerance education, and social gatherings. As a festival donor or sponsor, you can make this possible. Many recent independent films, i.e. those produced without the support of a major studio and for a non-mainstream audience have offered fresh interpretations of Jewish identity. These diverse films, brought in from around the world contribute to a better understanding of Jewish culture and help destroy hurtful and damaging Jewish stereotypes. |

Tax Deductibility of Contributions

| The Vancouver Jewish Film Festival is produced by the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival Society, a non-profit registered charity in the province of British Columbia. The Society will issue tax receipts for sponsorships, gifts in kind, and/or donations received in accordance with The Income Tax Regulations related to Canadian Registered Charities. |
| Special events and film themes requiring financial support may be available. Sponsors of these events will receive special benefits based on the level of sponsorship. Film sponsors are given a wide selection of films to choose from. We welcome sponsors to work with our organization to create and develop unique ideas and opportunities.
